The thing about Happily Ever Afters is there are several constants. One in that Prince - he's always good, practically perfect, incredibly handsome and charismatic. The second constant is the heroine, she's always unique, brave, and just a little bit too beautiful. The third constant is the evil thing trying to come between them, be it witch or step mother or queen. The fourth is love. It's always there. It's the most important part of the story. The fifth and final constant is the happily ever after.
Austen always said that her characters would find their happy endings. They'd find true love. I feel the same way. I want all of my characters to fall madly and deeply in love. I can't promise it will always be easy. Sometimes it will be painful. There will be heartache. But I promise it won't last forever. Just long enough for the prince and the princess to realise their destiny.
