Character No. 1 Clara is who this book is all about. She's pretty and very girl next door. She has just moved back from Liverpool after her long term boyfriend cheats on her with their boss. She's taken aback when she finds her old school bully sat in the board room with her at her new job. She's desperate to keep things professional but failing miserably.
Landon is BACK! He's Clara and Andrew's boss. He's been playing matchmaker ever since the moment he interviewed Clara for the job. He's good friends with Andrew too. They go out drinking on a semi regular basis and he's something of a confidant for Andrew - someone who's opinion counts for something. Clara struggles with that though because she knows that her boss and his fiancee are 100% on team Andrew.
There's drama here... really crazy drama. As you know she's a woman who likes everything to be perfect. No drama and definitely no scandal. Well it doesn't quite work that way in the History series.
Another protective brother, Luca is a 30 year old paramedic who always gets the girl. He's the easy going brother. The fun brother. He doesn't always agree with his big brother Gideon especially when it comes to protecting their baby sister. He's less concerned with the risk of scandal and more concerned with the idea of his baby sister having her heart broken. Although he thinks it's in her best interest to take a risk on Andrew.
Andrew's mum is a bit bohemian. She's an artist. She's a hobby starter. She loves her children but she's incredibly lonely after the death of her husband. It's been years but it's never gotten easier and every year on the anniversary of his death she looses a little bit more of herself to grief.
If there's one thing you want to know about Andrew, it's how he treats his little sister. Maya means the world to him. He's protective of her and he worries about her. He thinks she's too much like their mother for her own good.
Sarah Vincent, Mike's wife, is also Andrew's old high school friend. They all met in school, Clara, Andrew, Sarah, Mike... Andrew and Sarah were the popular kids. They were never in a relationship but they have history all the same. It's the sort of history that could destroy Sarah's marriage - what if everything she ever told her husband was a lie? When Andrew risks exposing their past to save his future with Clara he's never felt guiltier.
Another of Clara's best friends, Anna is a therapist. She's been friends with Clara since secondary school and she's so happy to have her back in London. She's the one who's constantly emailing Clara to come out for drinks. She finds it frustrating that Clara doesn't talk to her friends about the stuff going on in her life. She thinks it would be good for her to talk it out but she can't talk her into it.
Andrew's assistant is one of the smaller characters in this book but still worth mentioning. She's a single mum who's incredibly dedicated to her work. Andrew relies on her heavily. She has a little boy called Jackson and Andrew likes to buy him Christmas and Birthday presents.
Camilla (Millie) Morris
We first meet Millie when Andrew and her have a one night stand together before he gets with Clara. We'll meet her again. She's a writer. So I automatically lover her. We don't like to imagine our lead characters having a story before their story together but they always do. And Millie is a very small part of Andrew's story.
He's the bully but he's grown up. He's not the teenage boy who hurt her anymore. He teases her and flirts with the girl he's always wanted. He comes across a bit arrogantly but he's protective of those he loves and he's got a lot on his plate but he wants Clara and nothing will stop him getting what he wants.
Landon isn't the only one who is back. Aurora is right there with him and there's a plot twist with Aurora and Clara that I won't get into but it's safe to say it's a big part of the plotline of History. Their friendship is important.
A politician and a bit of a playboy. he's ambitious and unwilling to compromise. He's one heck of a protective brother and wants the best for his kid sister Clara. He feels responsible for the pain she's felt in the past. He'll not let anyone hurt Clara, not Andrew and not their mother.
Clara's dad used to be the Mayor of London and as always with families in politics there is scandal and drama. Turns out he's been lying to the public for years, claiming to be a widower when he returned from Paris so that his wife could avoid the life of a politician's wife. When it all comes out, it won't just hurt his son's chances of following in his footsteps but it'll hurt his whole family.
Andrew's big brother is a lawyer. He's smart and funny and loves to take the piss out of his little brother. Jake is a bit of a flirt and he's regularly on his phone presumably working although I'd say he's arranging hook ups with random girls. He likes his random girls.
Mike is one of Clara's best friends and you've got it, if you read the Rules Series you've met him before. He's the adoptive father of Amelia, Aileen's daughter and he's one of Landon's best friend's brothers. They're all connected..
There are some characters that are only hinted at. We meet Alec when Clara works on his companies advertising contract for TWR Advertising. We'll meet him again later for sure.
Elle, another one of those friends from school, works in Medical Research. She's an absolute romantic. She's been in love with her best friend Mike's brother for almost as long as she's known Mike but she's never had the guts to do anything about it. She's very encouraging of Clara and Andrew's relationship.
Clara's assistant Katie is another smaller character. She'll have her own story at some point. They all will. I refuse to let a single story be wasted and Katie has a story to share.
Every good book has a range of characters and I'm hoping you will love the characters in my history series. Some are people we've met before in Rules whilst others are completely brand new.
There are thousands of characters rolling around in my mind. These are just a few that I really want you to get to know. Not only is my first series The Rules Series completely free but Repeating History is currently half price to anyone who signs up to my mailing list. The second book in the History Series, Deleting History is available for pre-order in the Amazon store before it is released on the 31st January 2017.
