His proposition is possibly a bit sleazy. No not possibly. It is. He wants to buy her. Literally. He wants her to be his date for various social functions, in exchange for money... Naturally she's offended but when her financial situation deteriorates she takes him up on his offer, signing a contract. Their relationship will change everything; most of all them. They constantly hurt each other. The completely misunderstood each other. They are both so completely flawed. So flawed that I almost hate them at times. "Don't you see, you're putting me in an impossible position? You're offering me things - big, life-changing things - that I want to turn down, but I can't and then I'm, like, beholden to you. I owe you and I end up doing whatever it is you want, even if everything inside me is telling me not to... Please don't do this to me." Even at the end of this book I'm convinced they are probably over. right up until the last moment and a part of me thinks it might be better that way. Then when everything comes together, I can't help but wonder if there is more to this story, that hasn't yet been told.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
