Synopsis: My life crashed and burned two years ago, and now I'm a stripper--a very bad one. Worse, I'm in debt to a dangerous man who orders me to seduce a billionaire prodigy. Except why would a guy as handsome and rich as Elliot Reed want me, a girl with no education, no prospects, and a younger sister to feed? But Elliot is more than the incorrigible bad boy that the world sees. He is kind to my sister and looks at me like I'm a decadent dessert he wants to devour. When Elliot offers me money for sex, I wish I could walk away, but he ups the ante: a million dollars for one year of marriage. The man's gotta be insane, but beggars with less than a hundred bucks in the bank can't be choosers, and I want to give my sister a life better than my own. Now, trapped between a man who controls my future and a man who could own my heart, I wonder if I haven't screwed up my life even worse when my "husband" refuses to call me by my given name, and I run into my ugly past...and his.
I knew I'd enjoy reading this story even before opening my kindle app. I'd read the book before it in the series and had heard the hints alluding to this brother's story and I really couldn't wait to read it. I wasn't dissappointed either. It was just as good as I imagined. Annabelle is offered a deal. It goes against everything she believes to be right but she decides the best thing to do is to accept the deal - she'd do anything if it was in the best interest of her sister. Ethan needs to marry to get his inheritance but in an act of rebellion he decides to marry a stripper. There's a lot of pain and history in this book. Ethan won't even use Annabelle's name. The characters are complex and exciting. There's a beautiful plotline and a fantastic cliff hanger at the end. Nadia Lee is an author like no other and this is just one more amazing book on her list of awesomeness.
Synopsis: From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Deborah Bladon. Obsessed - Part One Independent jewelry designer, Ivy Marlow, had it all - the man, the security and the ring. Now, all she has to her name are a broken engagement, the crushing worry of a flailing business and the haunting feeling of complete betrayal. The last thing Ivy expected to find attending a posh New York art show, was him. Jax Walker is everything she doesn't need but can't resist. He's gorgeous, brazen, unapologetic and powerful. He becomes the escape Ivy has been craving and longing for. He knows what she needs, anticipates her desires and offers it all to her, but at what price? What once seemed to be a chance encounter designed by fate becomes more enigmatic than the man himself. Jax is full of secrets and Ivy is about to learn that his obsession for her runs deeper and darker than she ever imagined.
Obsessed - Part Two When Ivy first met Jax, she knew he was everything she wanted, but she didn't need. She couldn't have been more right. She thought she was done with the lies, the secrets and the betrayals, but her past is inescapable, no matter how hard she tries. That pain that she once thought was buried forever is slowly starting to resurface and it may just be too much for her already fragile heart to take. If there's one thing that Ivy loves most about Jax, it's his relentless need for control. He does everything he can to win her back and to prove that there's more to him than his past demons. He swears he's a changed man, but can a man like Jax ever really change? As Ivy begins to believe in Jax again, an unexpected secret tears her world apart. Past lovers return, schemes are exposed and Ivy is left standing in the center of it all.
Obsessed - Part Three Ivy wanted Jax to be the man of her dreams. After all the lies, the mysteries and the manipulations she was ready to start on the path towards a new beginning. That all came to a crashing halt that blindsided them both. The images that flashed across his computer screen are burned forever in her memory. They're inescapable and the only way out of the darkness leads straight back to him. She knows what she saw. He knows what he believes. Will his unending drive to possess her push her away forever? As Ivy puts the pieces of her shattered life back together, she's confronted with a reality she never saw coming. Is she strong enough to find her way to the truth? And who will be waiting for her when she gets there?
Still Obsessed - Part Four The end is here... Life couldn't have been more idealistic for Ivy Marlow. She owned the business of her dreams, worked alongside the man she loved, and her future was bright and filled with unending promise. Looks can be deceiving though and as much as she loved her life, she knew that she and Jax Walker were destined for a collision course if something didn't change. Destiny stepped in and one fateful night on a dark street, everyone's life transformed in a profound way. Ivy is tossed back into the past she thought was behind her and Jax is determined to reclaim what was rightfully his. What neither of them could have predicted is that life doesn't let you plan your own course. Sometimes you have to let fate take you by the hand so you can find your true destiny. Is Ivy's future with Jax or will the ghosts of her past destroy them forever?
This was the very first book I read by Deborah Bladon and it was the book that led to me reading every book she’s ever written. Obsessed was absolutely brilliant. Ivy Marlow is young and independent. She’s a jewellery designer and she’s engaged to the supposed love of her life. But it all falls through when the engagement is broken off. She’s devastated by his betrayal but then she meets Jax Walker and her world is literally turned upside down. She can’t resist him; literally. He’s hot – like sooo hot. He’s powerful and relentless.
But Jax is also keeping secrets, secrets that threaten to destroy them. Problem is it’s not just Jax that’s got secrets. There are secrets in Ivy’s past that even she doesn’t know about. Jax is ridiculously intense and hot. I mean he actually says “your pleasure was all mine,” and I was sat there wishing he was saying it to me instead of Ivy. Soz Ivy... As much as I like you, I’d fight you for Jax any day. Bladon might actually be the queen of the cliff hanger, so be prepared for heart break at some point but I promise she always pulls the happy ending out of her hat in the end.
The title Obsessed is so promising and this book doesn’t fail to deliver. This is the book that opens up a whole world of characters that Bladon has created for your enjoyment. Jax’s obsessions collided with one another in this awesome saga of love, betrayal and perhaps most importantly obsession.
This book deserves five out of five stars.
Synopsis: Part One Harvard student, Sadie Lockwood, was given a second chance and she's determined to make it count. She planned her life out with precision and she refuses to be deterred from her course. She knows what she wants and that is to honor the person who lost their life to save hers. When Hunter Reynolds steps into Sadie's world, she is knocked off of her axis. He's bold, charismatic and intense. She's committed to not let him lead her off her prearranged path but he's persuasive and a little fun never hurt anyone, right? As Sadie sets out on a journey to pull back the layers of Hunter's emotional façade, she begins to question the very heart that beats within her. Will shedding her own inhibitions help Sadie to accept the man she craves or will everything change once all is exposed?
Part Two Hunter was everything Sadie always wanted. He was powerful, dominant, gorgeous and, most of all, he wanted her exactly as she was. When she threw caution to the wind and jumped into his bed, she believed that her life was finally beginning. She was ready to start living and he was the one person she knew she could trust with her heart. That was until she found out that Hunter had owned her heart all along. When his past comes back to overturn Sadie's present in a way she never could have predicted, what will be left of the two of them? As Sadie struggles with embracing the truth, she's struck with a reality that makes her breathless. First loves, new loves and an unthinkable future leave Sadie reeling. Is her heart strong enough to accept the unavoidable truth?
Part Three Hunter changed Sadie's entire life. After discovering his connection to her past, she was ready to let go and embrace her new life. That one fateful night in Manhattan changed it all. After seeing Hunter for who he really is, Sadie must face painful truths about his past and their present. Her heart is pushing her in one direction. Her mind is pulling her towards a different path. Will Hunter's eventual confession change everything? As Sadie tries to accept who Hunter really is, she's forced to confront realities she never knew existed. She believes she's ready for it all, but is her heart strong enough?
More Exposed - Part Four Sadie Lockwood thought she had the perfect life. She loved Hunter Reynolds, she was studying to be a doctor, and her entire future was planned out. Everything was going her way. It all shattered when Hunter's past collided with their future. The one secret he kept from her barreled back into their lives, crushing everything in its path. It shattered all they held dear and it threatened them both in ways they never imagined it would. Hunter was everything she ever wanted. He told her he couldn't breathe without her. What happens when her very breath is stolen because of that love?
Sadie Lockwood owes her life to someone she’s never met and has decided to make it count. Everything is planned out. She’s studying medicine at Harvard and she refuses to let anything to deter her course. This is another one of those alpha male stories; he’s dominant, powerful, HOT, controlling... but as always the characters’ pasts collide in the most unbelievable way; what were the chances? Can you call it fate? I totally would.
This book literally broke me. Every time a little bit of the truth came out and Sadie was that little bit more exposed and Hunter turned out to be lying that little bit more my heart broke and broke and broke again. The plot is so completely different to anything I’d read before.
I felt cut in two; one side I loved Hunter and on the other I just couldn’t completely trust him. It’s easy reading at its best. It’s another serial so be ready for cliff hangers galore but it’s well worth reading; these two characters have stayed with me for years now and I still think back to them often now that Bladon’s world of characters has grown so much.
Aiden Taylor. He’s devastatingly handsome, sexy, arrogant and he’s out of reach. He’s my best friend’s brother and the one man I can’t have.
However, now that my best friend Liv is getting married, I’m seeing him more than ever. And he’s doing things to me that are making it hard for me to forget him. Or that night we had years ago. The night neither of us wants to talk about. The night I really want to talk about. We both vowed to keep our secret. It’s just getting harder and harder to keep it to myself. I need to come up with a plan. And I need to come up with it now because every weekend it’s getting harder and harder to tell myself that I’m not falling for my best friend’s brother. Falling For My Best Friend's Brother features Alice and Aiden from One Night Stand, but you do not need to read that book to enjoy this one. Readers should be 18 or over due to mature content and language.
I loved One Night Stand and so as soon as I was finished I downloaded Falling For My Best Friend’s Brother. I loved Aiden from the off. Alice annoyed me a little bit with her immaturity, but the further in I got the more I realised she wasn’t alone. Aiden for all his supposed maturity wasn’t much better.
This book is a pretty easy read. Aiden is hot, cocky and sometimes a little bit on the jealous side. Alice is young, immature and a bit cheeky. Not only did I love the story about Aiden and Alice, I also loved the fact that Xander and Liv were still in the background. Liv and Alice are best friends and they are completely ridiculous; hilarious. There were almost too many games and it irritated me that Aiden was playing games. It just didn’t make much sense that he was playing games to see if she was playing games.
All in all I loved this book. It was immature and fun and just a bit of light hearted entertainment. Not to mention their delve into dominant sex is quite fun.
Synopsis: Hot New Two Book Series from New York Times Bestselling Authors J. S. & Helen Cooper. Scott Taylor was sex on legs and it was all Elizabeth Jeffries could do to resist him. When Elizabeth Jeffries was hired for a job with her party gram company, she had no idea that her new boss Scott Taylor was going to have such an effect on her. He was a handsome flirt and he liked to push the boundaries of their office relationship. Only Elizabeth, with the guidance of her best friend, has decided to push right back. She wants Scott to know that he’s not the only one that can play games. Thus begins the ultimate game of cat and mouse. They both begin to tease and lure each other into their webs and then something explosive happens. The games go too far and Elizabeth is pushed to the limit. Scott doesn’t know what to think when he finds out Elizabeth’s big secret and the reason why she took the job. The truth causes everything to blow up, however neither one of them were to know that that wasn’t to be the last job that Elizabeth would take that would bring her back into his world. Falling For My Boss is a two book series that features characters from One Night Stand and Falling For My Best Friend’s Brother. Readers should be 18 and over due to mature content.
Falling For My Boss is the final book in this series. It’s a bit segmented and I found that a bit confusing to begin with. It starts before we first meet the characters. Scott Taylor is pretty damn fine and Elizabeth is sweeter than I realised in the last book. I couldn’t put this book down. It had me cringing at times and it almost destroyed me too. The chemistry was intense between Scott and Elizabeth right from the very moment they first met. He rescued her from the date from hell but life got in the way because it just so happens that he is her next job.
It’s cute and sweet with massive ups and downs and I really wasn’t ready for it to end where it did. I need to get some closure with this story. I need to know what the present is and I need Elizabeth and Scott to find their happy ever after.
I’ve got to say this book has kept me hooked the whole way through. I’m lost without the answers this book has inspired. Sequel please.
I give Falling For My Boss 4 out of 5 stars.
Synopsis: SPARK is the second part of HEAT, a four-part novella series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon. Cadence Sutton was living the life she always wanted. She was working at Nova beside Manhattan's sexiest chef and at night, she was the woman sharing his bed. Life changed in an instant and when Chef Tyler Monroe lost it all, Cadence was there to help him pick up the pieces. As they work together to rebuild Tyler's shattered life, Cadence realizes that she may be sacrificing more than she wants. Can she really have it all or will someone from her past change her future forever?
Spark didn’t quite start where I expected it too but strangely that works. Its three days after the fire. There’s a horrible, mellow, numb feeling in Bladon’s writing in the opening chapter. There’s distance that wasn’t there before and every good thing tastes bittersweet. It’s fantastically written and completely heartbreaking. Everything is up in the air; Tyler’s dreams are at risk and Cadence and Tyler’s relationship seems to be walking on a tight rope. He has moments of complete and utter jerkiness like that time that he just presumed she’s a whore... seriously?
This book made me realise just how much we don’t completely know these characters yet. There’s a lot about Tyler that’s still unknown and as for Cadence, she has a really big secret – which I think I’ve worked out – but as always the boy’s got it wrong again...
If there is one thing you can always count on Bladon for it’s the god awful cliff-hanger. She loves to leave us all with hearts racing, tears falling and general brokenness. Cadence has options which is something I like. She’s not quick to open up and you can’t help but love her for her independence. Even at the end of this book, when it all seems lost I’m not worried about her. She’s going to be okay, even if her heart is left destroyed she will be absolutely fine. That doesn’t mean I’m waiting patiently for the next book. I’m not. I’m 100% impatient.
Also what the heck about Maribel?? Didn’t see that one coming. Personally, I think Cadence shouldn’t be working with Tyler if she wants their relationship to work. I also can’t wait to find out if I’m right about the cliff hanger...
Synopsis: Revenge is sweet... Self-made billionaire Alex Damon wants his pound of flesh from the people who ripped his family apart. When he discovers his enemies' daughter is working at his company -- and most likely spying for them--he decides to start his revenge by seducing her.
Natalie Hall is stunned at the personal interest from the CEO of her company. Vulnerable, with an already bruised heart, she wants to avoid any involvement--but she can't deny the desire he arouses in her.
...but passion is sweeter... What should've been a straightforward eye-for-an-eye starts to unravel as Natalie's unflinching loyalty and kindness begin to thaw Alex's cold intent. But caring for her is unthinkable...since he plans to use everything in his power to ruin her family and everyone else she holds dear.
Revenge like love, infatuation, lust, hatred and nearly every other feeling in the world can quickly become an obsession. Alex Damon, self made billionaire is out for revenge and he may have found the perfect way to get it. It just so happens that his enemies’ daughter is working at his company and of course he naturally presumes that she’s spying on them so in the ultimate act of revenge he decides to seduce her.
What starts as revenge quickly changes and evolves into something sweeter than revenge, love. Natalie proves herself to be loyal to the company she works for and to Alex just in time for him to ruin everything. I loved this quick moving, heart destroying story so much I can’t actually tell you how much. Alex and Natalie are made for each other with a sexual tension so intense that it’s palpable. I really didn’t want it to end but then it doesn’t really because a lot of Lee’s books are connected so we don’t have to worry, this isn’t goodbye to Natalie and Alex.
This book really made me smile. It was a great read and Alex Damon is flipping gorgeous!
Synopsis: The NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestselling series in one bundle. VAIN - PART ONE Sex. That's all Noah Foster wanted when Alexa Jackson showed up at his apartment. After returning from a semester in Paris, Alexa is back in her hometown of Boston and looking for anything but the drama that surrounds Noah. He's intense, gifted, famous and a bastard through and through. Alexa doesn't take life too seriously. Noah doesn't do calm and easygoing. Their unexpected meeting sets them both on a course towards an unlikely connection. As Noah embarks on a journey to teach school teacher Alexa the ways of his dark and mysterious world, she's fighting her own demons and the memory of a stranger in Paris. When Alexa's past suddenly becomes her present, she's forced to face the reality of whether the passionate moments she's spent in Noah's arms, in his bed, and in his life mean anything to him, or has it all been in vain?
VAIN - PART TWO Posing nude for the illustrious Noah Foster seemed like an exciting escape from Alexa's life. No one was supposed to find out, but when the one man who owned her heart, discovers her secret, everything changes. Alexa is not only caught in a compromising position but in a situation in which her past and present collide. Determined to build a future for herself, she takes on the dual task of focusing on her career and burying her past regrets. It's never that easy though, and Noah Foster doesn't give up when he sets his sight on something or someone. As Alexa chases after her own dreams, both men in her life pursue her in a reckless fight to the emotional finish. When one man offers her a proposal almost too tempting to resist, she makes a decision that brings her face-to-face with an unexpected reality.
VAIN - PART THREE Alexa Jackson was falling hard and fast for Noah Foster. The world renowned photographer had woven a path straight into her heart. He offered her another chance at love and she offered him the path to a world that he no longer believed existed for him. That all ground to a startling halt when Alexa came face-to-face with Noah's past. Not everything is as it seems and as he helps her piece together the puzzles that exist within his world, they both realize that their needs might not match what's best for either of them. As Alexa begins a new life away from Noah, she's faced with new opportunity, past reminders and an uncertain future. He can't face what's happened to him. She can't face a life without him. Will they finally discover a way to help one another find love again?
Noah Foster is shockingly well shocking. He’s tainted and deeply scared and his very first words are beyond hot; “You’re staring at my dick.” He’s so matter of fact. I can’t help but respect that. He’s dark and edgy, that’s what Bladon tells us and she is so not wrong. Noah is a man like no other. He’s cocky. 100% arrogant. Alpha Male Extraordinaire. This book is definitely one of my favourites.
Alexa is young and has just gotten out of a relationship when she first meets Noah. He opens his door and he’s completely naked. Who would have thought one of my favourite books could start with a sandwich???
Alexa has a choice to make; money or sex. Noah’s a photographer so there is loads of sexy moments with his camera, not to mention he’s always naked. Alexa isn’t your typical innocent heroine. She tells Noah as much. She likes sex. She’s sexually aware and her thoughts are pretty hot.
This book was heart wrenching. As always there are cliffhangers that kill – especially when you have to wait for the next part in the serial. Noah breaks his own word, his own boundaries to the point where I want to shout and rage at him only to learn that I might be wrong and as if that’s not enough Alexia’s ex has followed her back from Paris... it’s just a nightmare for a little while.
In fact it’s a nightmare for a long while. Instead of waking up, I just go deeper and deeper into the darkness that is Noah Foster. Then just when I think there is no light. Alexa leaves and finds herself in New York but it’s dark there too but now it’s a new darkness; it’s the darkness that comes when Noah Foster isn’t in your life.
I love this series more than I can tell you. The cliffhangers almost killed me but it was well worth it in the end.
Synopsis: BLAZE is the third part of HEAT, a four-part series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon. Cadence Sutton is determined to make her career dreams come true. She's young, ambitious and falling hard for her boss, Chef Tyler Monroe. He's everything she wants. He's a force of nature in the kitchen and just as intense when they're alone. As he works to rebuild Nova, Cadence realizes that regardless of how much he wants her in his bed, when it comes to the restaurant, she'll need to prove her worth. When a familiar face from Cadence's past threatens to destroy everything she's worked for, Tyler vows to stand beside her. Secrets are shared, emotions are intense and as Cadence readies to tell Tyler exactly what he means to her, fate has a plan of its own.
OMG! Deborah Bladon are you trying to break my heart or is that just a side-effect of your literary genius? Seriously, a lot of your plot lines didn't necessarily surprise me in this one but that didn't stop them destroying me. I knew who Sergio was but the extent of his back story caught me off guard.
I had a feeling that something bad would happen at the end and I'm no clairvoyant but that aside this book has literally cut out my heart and left me bleeding. I can't bare it! Someone's dead and I don't know what to do with that. I just can't put a face to it. I'm not ready for either of them to die!
Cadence and Tyler have their whole future. ahead of them - even if he has seriously pissed me off in this book but we'll get to that. As for Sergio, I want them to build a relationship. I'm devastated because I think you've killed Sergio off and for me at least this book was less about Tyler and Cadence'd great romance and more about Cadence and Sergio reconnecting.
There are so many other things to say like WTF is Maribel up to? She seems hellbound to get between them but she's supposed to be married?? It's all just a bit odd. And as for the new Executive Chef - why hasn't Tyler told Cadence? And perhaps more significantly is this why he didn't want her there? The real reason?
So many thoughts and now I have to wait for answers. I hate you Bladon - that's a lie. I pretty much love you - but sometimes I hate to love you. It's like my love of chocolate. No matter how much I love it - it's just not that good for me. As much as I love your writing, it never fails to destroy me.
Synopsis: INFERNO is the final part of HEAT, a four-part series from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Deborah Bladon. Cadence Sutton knows that love is fleeting. She never felt it until she met Chef Tyler Monroe. He set her heart on fire the moment she saw him in Nova's kitchen. She was scared to let herself feel anything for him, but it was futile to fight the attraction. Lust quickly turned to love. As she prepares to tell him exactly how she feels, fate steps in and rears its ugly head. The future is changed forever. Lives are altered. Secrets are revealed. Will their love survive it all?
So I've finally read the final part of the Heat series by Deborah Bladon and I absolutely loved it! The characters were to die for and suddenly it all made sense. All those niggling little thoughts that were running through my mind were finally answered...
Got to say this series has quickly become my favourite Bladon series. The books just keep getting better and better. If you haven't read any of Deborah Bladon's books you should definitely start at the beginning but when you finally get to the heat series you will absolutely love it.
5 out of 5 stars without a doubt.
Hanleigh loves books. She always has. She loves getting lost inside their pages. When she reads a book she loves to share it with her friends.
