Summary: Lucky Morgan has had her share of heartbreak. She is devastated when her boyfriend dumps her after sleeping with him and she vows to herself that she won't be used again. She decides that the next guy she dates and sleeps with, will be her one true love.
Zane appears to be a bit of a player at first. Lucky is the waitress that just so happens to be present at every single one of his Friday night dates. They are both drawn to each other and Zane uses every snippet of information he can find out about her to his advantage. There's a very fine line between being interested in some one and stalking them and this book walks that line very closely. But even though Zane is a little bit on the creepy side you can't help but fall a little bit for him. "Zane Beaumont was everything I wanted to avoid in a guy. He was too handsome to be a good guy, with his light blue eyes and dark brown, slightly too-long hair." Zane is not the sort to go in for a serious, long term commitment or so it seems and yet it appears he has no intentions of anything less. He wants her. Completely. Only her. It's sweet and moving and yet it's devastating because there are so many things that come between them. "I was falling for Zane Beaumont, and I knew there was no way we could ever have a happy ending."
This is one of those books that cuts into your soul and leaves you speechless. Both Zane and Lucky have lost so much but they have reacted so differently. Lucky doesn't close herself off; she pulls back a bit, protects herself, grows independent but she still holds out for her forever whilst Zane seems to give up on life almost completely. He seems to almost just exist - exist solely for revenge - until he meets Lucky. Whoever would have thought that playboy Zane could possibly ever be Lucky's last boyfriend.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
