Alessandra Sinclair was raised to put family obligations first; sacrificing everything else including herself. But then she meets Hudson Chase again and everything changes. They end up engaging in a secret love affair whilst her fiancée is out of town. I'm not big on infidelity and perhaps that's why I didn't engage. They both want different things though. He want's revenge. She just wants him and always has. They've waited ten years for this moment and that makes the whole thing very lovable; even if it takes Hudson a little longer to realise that as much as revenge might be sweet, it isn't what he really wants.
As much as I struggled to get involved, when I did I fell in love. Sometimes that's the best way to fall in love; we all love the stories about love at first sight, but lets be honest love at first sight might be the dream but there's something better about a slow, deep burn that takes you over so gradually you don't realise it's even happening until you're completely and devastatingly lost. Although this isn't may favourite book in the trilogy, it does lead to amazing places so it's definitely worth reading.
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
