I have a lot of respect for Elise. She's the sort of character I love. She's strong. Independent. Proud. But she's also sensual and open to Lucien. She's willing to show him her fragility (with time) as he earns her trust. I love the back story; party girl, drugs, money, and then a tragic moment of loss that changes the entire direction of her life. It's impressive. She's a real heroine. She's the one thing that too many alpha male stories lack.
Lucien is beautiful. He's hard, controlling, a little bit closed off. He's the typical alpha male with a sexy as hell accent. I mean how many guys can get away with saying; "you do not ride me. I ride you." The tension between them is palpable and leaves you quite deliciously frustrated because it takes them chapters, and I mean chapters to get down to it. The reader is almost as desperate as Elise is by the time he finally takes her.
I give this book five out of five stars because I'm loving it so much right now.
