Hanleigh's Favourite Reads...
I think if you ever want to be a good writer, you need to be an amazing reader... So I thought I'd share some of my favourite authors and their books with you all.
So I absolutely adore all of Jane Austen's novels. I read P and P when I was twelve for the first time and since then I've been absolutely obsessed with them. Persuasion is my favourite.
I love this book. It's devastatingly sad and totally beautiful. The films not bad either but I'd recommend the book to anyone.
These books broke my heart; literally cut it up and walked all over it. Fantastic plot-line though. And in the films, Theo James is FIT! You really can't go wrong with a face like his.
I recently read some books by Nadia Lee. I'm really excited about future books by this author too. Just like with Deborah Bladon's books, Nadia has made a world of her own with her words, literally. It's absolutely amazing.
The Stark Trilogy
These books are quite similar to the Crossfire series. I really love them and I've enjoyed the Stark International books that I've read so far. Damien Stark is definitely the definition of dark but he's flipping hot.
The Hunger Games
I fricking adore these books. The films aren't bad but they really are never going to match the awesomeness of the books.
Fifty Shades of Grey
I love the Fifty Shades books. Although I have to say I prefer Grey. Hearing Christian's view is really hot. Fifty is like a book of steamy one liners. Incredibly hot one liners. I struggle with all the ways in which Christian is a little bit overprotective.
Mastered With This Collar
Julia is invited to her best friend's wedding and is a little bit shocked by what it turns out to be. She watches her friend kneel to her new husband and accept a collar. That day changes everything.
Crossfire Series, Sylvia Day
Gideon Cross would totally be the love of my life if it weren't for Eva and you know, if he wasn't a fictional character. I love the plot line of the Crossfire series. Eva is totally the sort of heroine I like too. It's amazingly written and I can't help but wish that someone would say everything Gideon says to Eva, to me.
I love historical romance novels and M.C.Beaton is amazing. Her books are fantastic and they are great for easy going afternoons when I have a bit of time to myself. The make me cringe awkwardly and giggle awfully all at once.
Deborah Bladon has written a lot of interconnected books. All the characters are all friends or family or business partners... she's made her own little world.
The Ex Games, J.S.Cooper & H.Cooper
This is a really weird book and so are the sequels but I actually really love them. Brandon is a HOT, older guy. Katie lies about her age when she first meets him and it ruins their relationship but when they meet again years later there are so many lies between them. It's insane.
The Fallen Series, Lauren Kate
I read these books in my late teens and I still love them now. It's about a girl who is re-incarnated whenever she realises that she is in love with an angel. He is absolutely gorgeous; her angel. Even though it was written for teens and young adults, I would still put it on my favourite books list.
Because You Are Mine
Ian Noble is a 30 year old British, ridiculously wealthy business man. I like the journey that Ian goes on as he learns more about his parents and his brothers. It's pretty much awesome.
Unsticky, Sarra Manning
This book is actually really great. Grace Reeves starts seeing an older, richer guy, Vaughn. It was a muddle of misunderstandings, heartbreak, and far too much honesty - it was incredible. This book is funny and flirty but at the same time you can't help but want them to work. Even though their relationship seems to be very artificial because of how it started, I think it might be one of the realist relationships I've ever read.
