Synopsis: In Christian’s own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story
that has enthralled millions of readers around the world. CHRISTIAN GREY exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty – until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him – past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart. Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?
So obviously it's the same story. It's still Christian and Anna. But this time Christian is the one sharing his inner most thoughts. I loved it. It was amazeballs. The writing is better than James' earlier books and Christian's voice is a lot stronger than Anna's. He's a stronger character, so that makes it a better read. It's insightful too because he sees everything differently. I'm really looking forward to his take on some of the later things that happen between them.
Synopsis: Romantic, liberating and totally addictive, the Fifty Shades trilogy will obsess you, possess you and stay with you for ever. When Ana Steele first encountered the driven, damaged entrepreneur Christian Grey, it sparked a sensual affair that changed both their lives irrevocably. Ana always knew that loving her Fifty Shades would not be easy, and being together poses challenges neither of them had anticipated. Ana must learn to share Grey's opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own integrity or independence; and Grey must overcome his compulsion to control and lay to rest the horrors that still haunt him. Now, finally together, they have love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of infinite possibilities. But just when it seems that they really do have it all, tragedy and fate combine to make Ana's worst nightmares come true ...
The writing is shocking, like the other books. Too many repeated phrases. But in fairness, this was the best book of the series. The writing was better. It wasn't quite as teenage girly. The plot is a little bit too repetitive; same crap from Christian different day. However, the story gets better and towards the end I finally find out something about Anna. I finally find out that she might have changed. Her character might have grown. And then at long, long last we see the same from Christian. He grows up! It took a while but this book is the reason I like Fifty Shades at all.
the CEO of my biggest mystery shopping account, but suddenly he's refusing to be in the wedding. He won't talk about it. Won't see reason. He's such a man. And he still won't stop kissing me in random closets. (Thank goodness.) I'm a fixer. That's what I do. I can fix anything if given the chance. But when the game is fixed there's only so much I can do. The ball's in his court now. Game on. * * * Shopping for a CEO is the 7th book in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling Shopping series. When CEO Andrew McCormick and mystery shopper Amanda Warrick find themselves in the unlikely position as maid of honor and best man in the Boston society wedding of the year, an undeniable attraction and dual stubborn streaks add fuel to the fire in this romantic comedy from Julia Kent.
I think the characters in this book rock. They are hilarious. Everything is a bit of a joke with these two. They're married or not married or married to someone else but they have no clue. All because of one crazy night in Vegas. I couldn't stop laughing throughout this book. This series is ridiculously good. You need to read the whole series; it's a really good series. Even though it's not on KU doesn't mean you shouldn't read it; in fact, I'd say some of the best books aren't and this is definitely one worth the price.
novel that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you for ever. When literature student Anastasia Steele interviews successful entrepreneur Christian Grey, she finds him very attractive and deeply intimidating. Convinced that their meeting went badly, she tries to put him out of her mind - until he turns up at the store where she works part-time, and invites her out. Unworldly and innocent, Ana is shocked to find she wants this man. And, when he warns her to keep her distance, it only makes her want him more. But Christian is tormented by inner demons, and consumed by the need to control. As they embark on a passionate love affair, Ana discovers more about her own desires, as well as the dark secrets Christian keeps hidden away from public view.
Fifty Shades has a special place in my heart. It makes me think of sunshine and lazing by the pool. That's where I first read it, you see. Christian Grey is hot isn't anywhere near an adequate sentence. He is tragic; almost like a little puppy that's been kicked. He doesn't let anyone in. Everyone is kept at a distance; his parents, sexual partners... everyone has their place. That is until he meets Anna.
It's not the best written book in the world; but do we really need to get technical to know that we love something? Countless authors make technical mistakes. I make technical mistakes. We all make the occasional spelling or grammatical error. Style isn't always constant. Blah blah blah... these things all really matter and getting it write makes your book far more enjoyable because of the FLOW, but sometimes RAW is good too.
Grey's story itself is beautiful. He;s broken. He's as hurt as a man can be. It holds him back. The pain controls him even though he thinks he controls it. Only with Anna does he let control go bit by bit. There are bits that I don't like. It's a tad stalkery at times and some people will tell you it's domestic abuse, but I didn't get that vibe. Nothing at all wrong with a bit of kinky sex. The reasons behind it obviously need a bit of therapy to work it all out but that's part of the joy of the journey and the journey is what makes the story. Anna is a bit weak. I think that's the biggest pitfall for me. She's just not strong enough. I'd be a heck of a lot more argumentative. There's no world in which I'd let him punish me for rolling my eyes at his extravagant gift. Seriously who buys a car for someone they've known less than a month???? and then to get rid of her old car without asking??? Too much!! She should have been stronger but nobody's perfect. Flaws are what make our characters likeable and approachable - they make them as real as you and me.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

*THE BILLIONAIRE’S WEDDING Cole and Abby leave the city behind for a quick visit to the Kerrigan family's beach house in Connecticut, where their friends and family have gathered for a very small, very private, very secret wedding!
This is serial romance at it's best. I absolutely adore the characters. Abby Waters and Cole Kerrigan have sexual tension from the very beginning and I love the opening line: "Anyone with half a brain would probably tell you that falling in love with your boss is the worst possible thing you could do in the business world." She's a girl just like you or me, with a painful memory or two and a quick mouth. She's sarcastic and funny and you can't help but love her and as for Cole.... well hello, you can be my boss any day Mr Kerrigan. In an interesting turn of events not only is their relationship a secret but even her employment has a level of secrecy; her best friend doesn't even know who her boss is.
They both want each other but they both see limitations. She knows that a relationship with her boss is the end of her job but she didn't expect it to happen quite as it did and he's never been a "FOREVER" sort of guy. In typical guyishness he hurts her and badly.
This book was a great read. It was easy going and perfect to read after work. The only thing I found a bit difficult was the weird third person narrative. It was too personal, to experiential, almost like the book was secretly in first person but just hiding behind the words she, he and they. I enjoyed reading this book but this haphazard feeling messed a bit with the flow of words. It wasn't a constant issue and it would definitely not hinder my reading the next book - something I started doing immediately after finishing this one last night.
For so many reasons, I give this book four stars. It's definitely a book all you romance lovers should read.
apart, but Abby has a surprise for Cole that will bring them closer than ever. What do you give to the man who has everything? Something money can’t buy…
The short novella is well worth a read. You should definitely make sure you've read the other two books in the series first but as soon as you've done that get straight on with this one. It's a feel good, joy to read, sort of book.
It's all about spending Christmas with the person you love; sharing gifts and enjoying each other's company... something that too often we all miss out on. Christmas is that one time of year when you can just be with the people you love; no work, no distractions... nothing except you and them...
Abby and Cole make the most of their time alone... and Abby gives Cole a pretty awesome Christmas gift. You should definitely read this. It's short but that's okay. There's no major suspense but hey, I was happy just to have a little bit of Christmas joy... even if it is the hottest day of the year so far.
Synopsis: Part One Harvard student, Sadie Lockwood, was given a second chance and she's determined to make it count. She planned her life out with precision and she refuses to be deterred from her course. She knows what she wants and that is to honor the person who lost their life to save hers. When Hunter Reynolds steps into Sadie's world, she is knocked off of her axis. He's bold, charismatic and intense. She's committed to not let him lead her off her prearranged path but he's persuasive and a little fun never hurt anyone, right? As Sadie sets out on a journey to pull back the layers of Hunter's emotional façade, she begins to question the very heart that beats within her. Will shedding her own inhibitions help Sadie to accept the man she craves or will everything change once all is exposed?
Part Two Hunter was everything Sadie always wanted. He was powerful, dominant, gorgeous and, most of all, he wanted her exactly as she was. When she threw caution to the wind and jumped into his bed, she believed that her life was finally beginning. She was ready to start living and he was the one person she knew she could trust with her heart. That was until she found out that Hunter had owned her heart all along. When his past comes back to overturn Sadie's present in a way she never could have predicted, what will be left of the two of them? As Sadie struggles with embracing the truth, she's struck with a reality that makes her breathless. First loves, new loves and an unthinkable future leave Sadie reeling. Is her heart strong enough to accept the unavoidable truth?
Part Three Hunter changed Sadie's entire life. After discovering his connection to her past, she was ready to let go and embrace her new life. That one fateful night in Manhattan changed it all. After seeing Hunter for who he really is, Sadie must face painful truths about his past and their present. Her heart is pushing her in one direction. Her mind is pulling her towards a different path. Will Hunter's eventual confession change everything? As Sadie tries to accept who Hunter really is, she's forced to confront realities she never knew existed. She believes she's ready for it all, but is her heart strong enough?
More Exposed - Part Four Sadie Lockwood thought she had the perfect life. She loved Hunter Reynolds, she was studying to be a doctor, and her entire future was planned out. Everything was going her way. It all shattered when Hunter's past collided with their future. The one secret he kept from her barreled back into their lives, crushing everything in its path. It shattered all they held dear and it threatened them both in ways they never imagined it would. Hunter was everything she ever wanted. He told her he couldn't breathe without her. What happens when her very breath is stolen because of that love?
Sadie Lockwood owes her life to someone she’s never met and has decided to make it count. Everything is planned out. She’s studying medicine at Harvard and she refuses to let anything to deter her course. This is another one of those alpha male stories; he’s dominant, powerful, HOT, controlling... but as always the characters’ pasts collide in the most unbelievable way; what were the chances? Can you call it fate? I totally would.
This book literally broke me. Every time a little bit of the truth came out and Sadie was that little bit more exposed and Hunter turned out to be lying that little bit more my heart broke and broke and broke again. The plot is so completely different to anything I’d read before.
I felt cut in two; one side I loved Hunter and on the other I just couldn’t completely trust him. It’s easy reading at its best. It’s another serial so be ready for cliff hangers galore but it’s well worth reading; these two characters have stayed with me for years now and I still think back to them often now that Bladon’s world of characters has grown so much.
Synopsis: Hot New Two Book Series from New York Times Bestselling Authors J. S. & Helen Cooper. Scott Taylor was sex on legs and it was all Elizabeth Jeffries could do to resist him. When Elizabeth Jeffries was hired for a job with her party gram company, she had no idea that her new boss Scott Taylor was going to have such an effect on her. He was a handsome flirt and he liked to push the boundaries of their office relationship. Only Elizabeth, with the guidance of her best friend, has decided to push right back. She wants Scott to know that he’s not the only one that can play games. Thus begins the ultimate game of cat and mouse. They both begin to tease and lure each other into their webs and then something explosive happens. The games go too far and Elizabeth is pushed to the limit. Scott doesn’t know what to think when he finds out Elizabeth’s big secret and the reason why she took the job. The truth causes everything to blow up, however neither one of them were to know that that wasn’t to be the last job that Elizabeth would take that would bring her back into his world. Falling For My Boss is a two book series that features characters from One Night Stand and Falling For My Best Friend’s Brother. Readers should be 18 and over due to mature content.
Falling For My Boss is the final book in this series. It’s a bit segmented and I found that a bit confusing to begin with. It starts before we first meet the characters. Scott Taylor is pretty damn fine and Elizabeth is sweeter than I realised in the last book. I couldn’t put this book down. It had me cringing at times and it almost destroyed me too. The chemistry was intense between Scott and Elizabeth right from the very moment they first met. He rescued her from the date from hell but life got in the way because it just so happens that he is her next job.
It’s cute and sweet with massive ups and downs and I really wasn’t ready for it to end where it did. I need to get some closure with this story. I need to know what the present is and I need Elizabeth and Scott to find their happy ever after.
I’ve got to say this book has kept me hooked the whole way through. I’m lost without the answers this book has inspired. Sequel please.
I give Falling For My Boss 4 out of 5 stars.

Seven years later, Katie has finally moved on and accepts the position of her dreams at Marathon Corporation as an executive manager. Now Katie has to fly to San Francisco to attend a company-wide orientation and she is scared that Brandon is going to fire her on sight. Little does she know that Brandon has lot more planned for her and this time he's the one keeping a secret.
The Private Club What happens at the private club stays at the private club! When Meg Riley lost her job as an attorney, she never thought she'd end up working for a private club. But when she met the handsome and elusive, Greyson Twining, she knew she couldn't turn the job down; even though she didn't really know what the position entailed. Greyson Twining is the owner of the private club and he knows that it's a mistake to hire, Meg. However, there is something about the way she smiles at him that makes him forget his own reservations. And then there's the call from, Brandon Hastings telling him not to hire Meg. A call he should have listened to more closely. As, Meg and Greyson embark on day one of training, neither of them realize that there are secrets about to come out that will completely alter both of their lives.
After The Ex Games Can love exist when secrets are revealed and promises are broken? When Brandon Hastings and Greyson Twining started the private club, they never knew just how much it was going to change their lives. Power, greed, sex, and money filled their brains, but love never touched them. When Katie Raymond and Meg Riley entered their lives, everything they thought they knew about life changed. Brandon and Greyson know that they only have one chance to make everything right, but the one person they are counting on to help them, may be the one person who wants to take them both down.
The Love Trials She thought she knew what was between the sheets, but she really had no idea. I thought I knew what I was getting into when I received the invitation from the lovers academy. I thought I was going for love. I had no idea that the lovers academy cared more about what happened between the sheets than it did a meeting of the minds and souls. This isn’t your regular love story. My Prince Charming didn’t ride up on a white horse and come and save me. In fact, he warned me to stay away from him. Of course, I didn’t listen. Why would I? There’s something so exciting about going after someone you shouldn’t have. However, I never thought it would be like this. I’ve never felt so conflicted in my life. No one told me that being bad could feel so good. No one told me that when the big bad wolf tells you to run away and hide, you should listen. If I’d only known just how far from charming my prince was, I would have ignored the invitation. Readers of this series of books should also be above 18 years of age due to mature situations and language.
This was the first thing I read by Cooper and it’s the reason I’m still reading. It’s three stories rolled into one; they’re all separate but awesomely connected in that way that all my favourite series are. The Ex Games, where we begin is all about Brandon and Katie. When they first meet she is only a freshman in college and she lies about her age. It’s a lie that destroys their relationship. When they meet 7 years later, he’s still the love of her life and she fails to keep her distance. It doesn’t help that he’s now her boss... awkward much. I had a feeling about where this book was going and although I was close, my imagination didn’t go as far as JS Cooper’s. There were some parts that went too far for me and I think Katie was way more forgiving than I ever would be... like way too far... but somehow I was still into him and that scares me a bit because obviously that makes me think I might have issues.
I prefer The Private Club to the Ex Games. Mostly because Greyson doesn’t try as much shit as Brendon and I like Meg a lot. She’s a great heroine not to mention the fact that there is some serious drama and stuff going on. Greyson is quite easy to love. He doesn’t see the good in himself at all. This story is dark and tainted but it surprises you – just as you begin to think Greyson and Brendon really are absolute jerks you end up pleasantly surprised.
The Love Trials was even better again. I loved it. Revenge, sex, love... great combo. I’ve never read anything quite like it. Jaxon is flipping gorgeous but he’s after revenge and he’s willing to hurt Nancy to get it. Nancy was very immature and young but all in all it worked.
Synopsis: Restaurateur and bartender Blaine Davis has avoided contact with the father he's hated since childhood. When a bombshell brunette shows up, clearly a fish out of water in his sleepy little town, Blaine is suspicious. But he finds it impossible to stay away from the most intriguing woman he's ever met. Beautiful socialite Catherine Fairchild has been given a mission: help a powerful billionaire reconcile with his son. In exchange, he's going to make all her money problems go away. But Catherine starts to feel too much for the one man who sees beyond her pretty face to trick him into joining the shallow, selfish world that ruined her. Will the lies and secrets that brought them together end up tearing them apart?
Another very different book from a very different series. Catherine Fairchild has lost everything. Her life has fallen to pieces and the people around her think she's to blame. So when an old family friend asks for a favour she jumps at the chance to escape her ex-husband's family. I found this book very interesting because it relates to a series that I'd read previously; The Pryce Family series. This book seems to fit somewhere towards the beginning of that series although I'm not exactly sure when.
This was a fantastic book with a really great plot line plus a really hot male lead. I love the interwoven plot lines and all the family secrets that are coming out. Nadia Lee never lets us down.
Hanleigh loves books. She always has. She loves getting lost inside their pages. When she reads a book she loves to share it with her friends.
