As I said the story line is brilliant. I loved it. The only problem was that the writing left a little something to be desired. There were some spelling and grammatical errors and at times I found myself just blanking out huge parts of text. I liked both the characters in the end and was really rooting for them. I did really struggle to relate to April. I don't think it was the depression. I think I just had this sense that she wasn't willing to try. I'm not even sure she was diagnosed with depression, that might have made her more approachable. With the lack of a true diagnosis or any real character build up, she just seemed like a spoilt rich kid, who was obsessed with being fat, who wouldn't get off her arse to do any work or exercise. This would have seemed more validated if she actually was suffering from serious depression but then she should have been seeing a doctor.
All in all, it wasn't a bad book but it definitely wasn't the best either. I'd read it again though, so that says something. Charlotte Byrd is a great author and I loved Grant's character.
