Summary: Curvaceous beauty Hilary Rosenberg doesn't believe in love. She only goes out with nice guys who won't expect passionate romance--until a notorious womanizer demands she repay a favor with four weeks of counterfeit dates.
Mark Pryce is a notorious play boy. Only problem is his mother is trying to set him up... so he calls in a favour with his best friend's assistant. There is sexual attraction from the off. They want each other. "She could see why other women succumbed to his charms. He was classically tall, dark and handsome with the clean profile his family was famous for. His blue eyes never failed to make her heart skip a beat, and his face often broke into a killer smile that was as lethal as a strychnine martini." He asks her to be his date to his family's fourth of July party, much to her surprise. Hilary's only valid excuse not go is taken away from her minutes after his question, in the almost too convenient arrival of the supposed fiancée of her boyfriend.
His family don't believe it. She's not his type. His brother Ian reminds him that his mother is never going to believe him if he just shows up at the party with Hilary so he decides that they should date for a month. He starts by taking her out to lunch. There's attraction. Lust. Want. Even at the beginning. Their relationship quickly develops, even though everyone seems to be warning them off each other. Mark's best friend, Hilary's boss doesn't think it's a good idea and Mark's mum is completely against it.
In the end it's Hilary's family drama that looks to separate them. Well, that and Mark's frustratingly over-involved mother. Mark does everything he can to win her back because for the first time ever he's actually in love and whether she's ready to admit it or not, she loves him too.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
