Synopsis: Deep in debt and stalked by a deadly conman, Jane Connolly needs a job and a safe place to stay. With no one to turn to in an unfamiliar city, she can't refuse the kindness of a magnetic stranger.
Jane is so set on proving she can be a chef so much that she's forgotten the point. She wants to prove everyone wrong including her family back home. Something Nadia Lee does really well is introduce her readers to characters you can't help but love. You have to respect Jane's fight for freedom from her family, even if you think she's a bit of a muppet for being willing to sleep in her car.
The Pryce family are very involved, perhaps a little too involved in each other's business and the dynamic between the parents is a bit on the disfunctional side but that just makes it all more real. When Iain loses his last grasp on the control he needs he pushes Jane away and he needs to win her back.
The title is perfect. She really is his obsession and that obsession certainly seems to be massively inconvenient. Especially when control and stability is all you cling to.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I absolutely love the whole series.
